Alternatively known as the Mastic Shirley Conservation area, the Narrow Bay Floodplain encompasses land that is vulnerable to coastal flooding during extreme storm events. It is designated as land that may be studied to determine if it can/ should be acquired by the county using grant funding specific for hurricane hazard mitigation from the State Emergency Management Office.
